Isomer Transition - Bright Lights, Big City (DOPE053)

Isomer Transition - Bright Lights, Big City (DOPE053)Dope Recordings is proud to announce the release of its newest single Bright Lights, Big City, by the NYC-based artist Isomer Transition. This release features two remixes of the original version created by Isomer Transition himself. Organic, yet scientifically precise, these two tracks speak to a wide range of tastes.

Bright Lights, Big City (Dub City Mix) – The name speaks for itself, a warm and driving dubbed out jam destined to move the late night crowds. Warm synth washes matched with a relentless and subtle bass line are the core of this mix. The Dub City Mix is a soulful, heartwarming track reminiscent of the early days of massive warehouse raves and early morning sunrises.

Bright Lights, Big City (Blackout Mix) – This mix is a haunting and slightly more experimental take on the original. Attention to detail presents itself through a slow build up of sonic structures that slowly coalesce into the soul of the track. Starting off as a sparse soundscape the sounds meld into a rhythmic crescendo that releases into a pumping dance floor groove.

dr.nojoke - Clikstep Chapter 1 (DOPE052)

Dr.NoJoke - Clikstep Chapter 1 (DOPE052) Hope you're well!

For our 52nd release Dope Recordings is excited to announce the genre-defying EP Clikstep Chapter 1 from the Berlin artist dr.nojoke. This is a fine taste of what dr.nojoke likes to call “Clikno”. If you ask us, Clikno is genre-defying music that pushes the boundaries of rhythm and sound, taking the listener to an area unexplored by most electronic producers today. Clikstep Chapter 1 is an excellent blending of the best sounds in electronic music: dub, breaks, and techno mix together to make one splendid smoothie of psychedelic funk.

Fantasy Parking (Berlin) – This one starts out the release with a swinging groove accentuated by clean cliks and claks. The rolling bass line pulls you along while the broken cadence of the kick drum sends you into an introverted hallucination of pure bliss and overindulgence.

Nobody Sonst – This track feels like taking a roller coaster ride inside of a giant dub-warrior space ship. Blasting off into the intergalactic space station of reggae rhythm, Nobody Sonst is the perfect example of why we say you cannot easily slide this music into a genre hole.

Panaroma – Takes us back down to earth and places us behind the wheel of a massive dub-techno train, sending us into a multicolored sunset of graceful synth lines and dizzying, bouncy beats. Sweeping swishes and fluttering percussive stabs make this track a perfect head bouncer.

Schnickschnack - This one ends out the release nicely with a hypnotic synth laid alongside hand drums, slippery bass grooves, and a mix of unique sounds that make up the melodic structure of the track. Intensely paced, this track brings a sense of urgency to the dance floor that is likely to get people working themselves up into a frenzied state of exhaustion.

Royale - Invisible Pink Unicorn (DOPE051)

Royale - Invisible Pink Unicorn (DOPE051) Closely following our 50th release Dope Recordings is excited to announce the arrival of our 51st. Invisible Pink Unicorn is its name and making techno babies is its game. The spawn of label founder Royale, this single is destined to make the strangest of strangers fall in love. A handful of majestic remixes accompany this single with tasty bits from Attentat, Ryan Simatic, Roy England and newbies to the Dope crew, Tete a la lune. Wobbly techno, soulful house, driving tech-house, and a bit of almost trance, are just a few cliché ways of describing this release, making it the perfect sound track for pointing your index finger in the air and prancing around like a dandy.

Attentat's remix is a rumbling late night groove designed for taking the crowd down to the lower realms of the techno underworld. Relentless bass is the driving force behind this behemoth of a track. A slippery synth flops its way around the stereo field like a freshly lubricated sex toy, while  a disconcerting scraping sound pans to and fro making the dancer lose track of time and space. The metaphysical is not something Attentat is normally prone to, but he really let himself go with this one. The outcome is a transcendental eargasm that will certainly provide stress relief for all those pent up unicorn desires.

Tete a la lune is the brain child of two of the cutest unicorns you ever saw, Time For Trees and Meagan Wilson. These star struck, horned ponies, met in a dark woodland area and instantly the pair began  their joyous frolic involving computers and copious amounts of heavy petting. Their remix is a spiced up house track that exudes hot, young unicorn love. Muted trumpet, twinkling bells and a non-stop ass shaking shaker make this track stand out as a bombshell ready to explode its rhythmic pony sauce all over the crowd. As if that wasn't enough the slipping, slithery breakdown on this track might just be about the neatest damn thing you ever heard. Reminiscent of those early days when all kids want to do is play dress up, this track will have unicorns of all ages gender bending in no time. Don't tell your parents about Tete a la lune or you might get grounded.

Thirdly we have the exquisite sound excursions of Roy England bringing his tasteful subtleties to the table for a delicious dub remix. Full of crisp congas, clean claps and a happy, snappy, snare this song will definitely bring all the alienated ponies together for a night of galloping and tom-foolery. Slight beeps and bloops bounce about this track like a unicorn taking its time to get to know you. With just the right amount of unicorn pheromone released throughout the mix this track is certain to have all the horned ponies kicking down the door to the secret after hours spot. For all the tech-house wizards out there looking to perform some serious sex alchemy on the dance floor, don't leave home without your test tubes and Bunsen burner because some serious business is likely to take place when this track gets dropped.

As if there wasn't enough dirty business going on with this release Ryan Simatic shows up and nails it out of the park. This guy knows the ins and outs of a lasso and he uses it to tame himself some wild, raving, unicorns. Hot off the trail from his first release for us Ryan's remix has all the trappings of a dirty, nasty, all night unicorn sleep over. Pounding bass, exotic pulsing synths, and rolling percussion give this track all it needs to make the sweet sweat poor, causing all supple unicorn bodies to jack. An old school rave synth rips its way through this remix giving a feel of recognizability destined to make it a track that candy kids and old time unicorns are certain to enjoy. The crowd will likely get together for a giant P.L.U.R pow-wow during the breakdown only to explode into a seething mass of undulating flesh and bone.

Finishing off the release is the original by long time Dope recordings super hero Royale. This beautiful little baby was birthed after years of steeping himself in the mirth of funky unicorn love. Mustering up his mojo big daddy Royale gives us a late night rave tracked suited for prime time gallivanting. All who hear this master piece will find themselves quickly falling for all the other unicorns in the club. Princes and princes will be neighing and whinnying up a storm as they prance around like dainty little ponies. Sex appeal runs high on this one so grab your saddle, your stirrups and get ready to ride this magical horse into the setting sun. If you don't end up rolling around in a field, chewing on hay with a random somebody from the club after listening to this, then we don't really know what to say, except you might want to call the veterinarian because there could be something wrong with you little unicorn.
